When I bought my second home recently, it was to meet the needs of my growing family. Having multiple kids, meant more space would be needed. Coupled with the fact that both I and my wife work form, our new home had to be very sizable. Spanning two floors and a basement, we got our wish. But, one of the issues we immediately faced was that of keeping a strong connection with the internet throughout the house. Having children in their teens and working from home via the internet caused more conflict than either myself or my wife had expected. This caused us to have to look into solutions to solve this problem. Researching the better part of a day, I discovered that all we need was a quality Wi-fi Signal Booster. This was the highest recommended solution to our not so uncommon problem. Those who may have the same as I did and have never heard of such a thing, let me explain.
For example, my workshop took up the basement and my wife’s office was on the second floor. As you can tell they were quite far from one another. Only having limited places, we could only install the modem in upstairs, due to the age of the home. It would have been extremely pricey to run cable to the basement and add another modem. So, we had purchased a signal booster and placed it in the living room on the ground floor, which luckily happened to be above basement directly. The booster worked like a bridge providing a stable connection for me and anyone throughout the house. This cut down on dead zones where the Wi-fi was non-existing. It expanded the range so much so, that we were able to reduce the range to provide an even stronger signal. Which completely solved our issues.
We had bought our booster from ZYXEL, which did more than just extend the range itself. I was able to properly establish an entertainment room on the ground floor. Providing multiple ports for Ethernet plugins that could provide a connection comparable to a hardline directly into the modem. Letting us to stream movies in high definition with no buffering required. Because of the range we had now, we were even able install all of the wi-fi capable products that we just couldn’t before. Connecting lights, electric locks and a few other luxuries to the new network that we had established. We could even traverse our back yard in its entirety, while staying connected. Which I will admit wasn’t all the large, but never the less impressive.
In the end, I would recommend this to anyone who is having issues with wi-fi coverage and needs a little boost. I normally don’t like to praise one solution of others considering the many ways to handle a problem. But, I have not found a solution that was this easy to install and use. With results that were night and day from what I previously had. So, like I said, if you have a similar problem as I had, give signal boosters a try.
